Patient Positioner
The Action Orthopedic Hip Positioner was originally commissioned by Dr. William Hozack of the renowned Rothman Institute Orthopaedics in Philadelphia, PA for use during total hip replacements. Designed to complement the Anterior Supine Approach to THR, this unique positioner, often called a bump , was engineered to provide consistent, optimal site access and patient stability while protecting the patients skin integrity. The soft Akton® polymer encases a rigid foam core to create a critical frame-like stability while simultaneously redistributing pressure and shear forces that can damage the sacral tissue.
