DESCRIPTION
Dual Pillar SystemSet at a narrower configuration (26-33 inches), the SAFESCAN INTERCEPT PILLAR ferromagnetic detector has greater sensitivity for smaller ferromagnetic threats. The SAFESCAN INTERCEPT PILLAR system is positioned up to 54 inches apart (or greater when required) to provide doorway protection for larger threats, either entering Zone III or within Zone III protecting the magnet room door (frequently 48 inches wide). Note: If small ferromagnetic threat objects pass through the aperture closely to the sensors located in each pillar's vertical limb, these can often be detected, even if the pillars are spaced at a wider distance. With ANY ferromagnetic detection ferromagnetic detector sensitivity increases to the cube of the distance - 2x closer to the sensors results in 8x increase sensitivity. The SAFESCAN INTERCEPT PILLAR ferromagnetic detector system has a fundamental (patented) technological advantage because of the utilization of a non-radiating, passive (DC) magnetic field to improve sensitivity and detection capability. This is especially important for detection of non-premagnetized ferromagnetic objects which have no magnetic moment of their own.
