I am contacting you regarding an issue with our Bio-Rad CFX96 Real-Time PCR System. The instrument is showing the following errors:

• Slow lid cycling error (Error Code: x000D000D)
Self-Test Failed on X (Error Code: x000D0001)

These errors appear immediately during startup and prevent normal operation. I have attempted the following preliminary steps:
• Powered off the unit and restarted it after ~2–3 minutes
• Checked and cleaned the lid and block contact surfaces
• Confirmed no obstruction to lid movement

Despite these steps, the errors persist, and the instrument does not reach normal operating conditions.

Please advise on the next steps for diagnosis and repair.
Is there a recommended service procedure, remote diagnostics option, or parts replacement needed? I am happy to provide additional information or logs if required.

I have a colleague that is having a power issue. His laser aiming beam comes on when he turns on the laser, but he says the screen stays dark and there is no sound of the laser powering up or coming on. Does anyone know if the aiming beam is on it`s own power supply? Or another reason this might be happening?

Hi,
I have this unit with the error,  PLEASE CALL BIO-RAD FOR SERVICE SLOW BLOCK CYCLING.
When the Temp is set to 95degrees, it gets to apprx 8 degress less than set temp and then slowly increases. But displays the above message.
If I stop and try to run another test it then delivers message "No Blocks are ready to run a real time protocol"   This message only then disappears after a reboot.    Initial feedback is that the block heater is faulty and needs to be replaced.
Is this a reasonably straight forward process or are special aligment tools required apon re-assembly.
We are trying to decide if we fix internally or send out for repair.

Any advice and or technical tips on further fault finding this would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Dan
