Our 4-year-old InnoVet Versa DR (AP console) is due for annual verification. Previously, a contactor would visit to perform services, but did not follow manufacturer specifications. Summit referred me to the distributor. MinXray shared an alternative "Installation and Service Manual" compared to the one uploaded here (I would upload ours, but no option exists). Bottom line: I don't know how to proceed.
We only own an Unfors RaySafe X2 base unit with no mAs cable. (For reference, the contractor also ONLY used an Unfors RaySafe X2 base unit WITH an mAs cable and no light meter.) This effectively prevents performing ANY of the following "Routine Maintenance Checks":
-Perform tube seasoning/calibration.
-Verify kVp and mAs outputs are within accuracy limits.
-Verify kVp and mA waveforms are of the proper amplitude and shape.
-Annually perform complete system conformance testing per section 7 of install and service manual.
The service manual doesn't contain images for where to locate DIP switches or how I am to connect a mAs meter across the HV Transformer. A separate dosimeter ("for linearity and reproducibility") and digital dual trace storage oscilloscope are needed. We do have a Tektronix TDS 2024B, but I cannot locate corresponding probes...
Questions:
1. I know the correct answer (i.e., "None!"), but for a Shop with limited means, what objective comprehensive tests may I perform to validate performance WITHOUT opening panels and inserting meters across transformers?
2. For Shops able to perform all checkouts IAW manufacturer literature, can you please share tips, lessons learned, and images (if you are able to upload files here)?
Finally, in case you are curious, the service report we received from the contractor only included measurements under the following test headers, which are mostly unconceived in the manufacturer literature:
Seeing intermittent inversion of display screen, entire display will appear upside-down and backwards. Comes and goes. Plan is to replace the AAA rechargeable battery on the circuit board, wondering if anyone knows concrete cause and if our solution should alleviate problem.
