Minor situation here: upon moving to our new facility, with a Steris Basil 3500 unit under my arm, I discovered that the new building did not have high-pressure steam available. So our steam-heated Basil 3500 has been a 2000 lb paperweight for the last 18 months. It's pretty, but completely useless. I'm shopping to replace aforementioned Basil 3500 for an electrical unit, and I've got a really good price on the 3700. But the size for the 37 is a little greater (89.7" high vs. 80" for the 3500), and I can't roll the 3700 through normal 84" doors. The spec sheet says the unit can be dismantled down to 80" or so. Does anyone have any experience with taking the top off a 3500 or 3700 to make it fit into a door, then re-assembling the unit in the higher-ceilinged cleaning room? Looking at the 3500 I have, it should be possible to lob off some height by removing bolted-on pumps and valves. Does anyone know if the same is possible with the 3700? Thanks to you all. I'm trying to avoid buying myself another $30K, 2 000 lbs paperweight! Dan Salvail
