Hi all,

It seems the control board is defective, as it is not switching the compressor correctly. All other functions appear to be working normally.

I am looking for a replacement board, as well as wiring diagrams if available.

For troubleshooting, I connected the compressor directly to power and it runs properly, which suggests the compressor itself is OK and the fault is likely on the board or in the control circuit.

Any help would be appreciated.

Rotating a handle does not move knife (or whatever it called) while pressing buttons on LCD screen does. So stepper motor, its driver and associated mechanical parts should be all fine. Removing that handle does not reveal any sensors. Where the sensor which reacts on handle rotation is located? How to get a physical access there?

Equipment: Cryostar NX50

Thanks.

Does anyone have a "NX70/NX50 Service Manual"? Please share it with me. I'd be very grateful.

Has anyone experienced on the NX50 the service programming going blank?  We were told by the manufacturer that the firmware needs to be re-entered with a thumb drive.  Does anyone have this thumb drive.  Manufacturer is not being forthcoming with drive details.

I have an issue with the cryobar on a Thermo Scientific NX50 cryostat. When I push the button it goes back off after a few seconds. It should stay on for 2 to 3 minutes. Does anyone have a service manual for the NX50 cryostat?

I have just spoken to Thermo tech support about this problem of exscessive condensation on the glass door or window and was told that this can be caused by failing insulation in the unit generally or by failure of the heated glass. TF can supply a new heated glass door for about $1k. I think the problem is likely the heated glass or the power supply or wiring connections between these parts. I noticed that someone on this board has a Service Manual for this instrument. If I may bother you about this - is the information in the manual about checking the power to the glass? What voltage I should expect to be supplied and how/where it can be measured? I want to be able to rule a basic electrical problem out before ordering a new window.
