HI, I purchased a remanufactured Statim 2000 autoclave and am attempting to set it up but have run into a roadblock. The instruction manual (for Statim 2000/5000) says to prime the pump by letting water run out of the drain tube on the underside. But my unit has no drain tube at all. I searched the web for more info and can't find anything. The dealer I bought from isn't open until Monday. Anybody know anything about this?

Use a non-chloride cleanser (i.e. Cameo, Zud or Bar Keepers Friend) and a green scratch pad. At least once a week clean the inside of the lid of the cassette and the inside of the tray and the outside edge of the lower tray. Once a week take some liquid hand soap and lubricate all exposed surfaces of the seal, to keep it soft and supple. After cleaning, rinse and dry, then apply a liberal amount of Stat Dri to the inside metal surfaces. This SciCan product helps the water dry inside the cassette in less than one minute once the cassette is removed from the machine. Clean the outside surface of the Statim with a mild soap and water. The seal in the cassettes will last approximately 800 cycles and if maintained properly could last longer.
