Hello,

I have a Totalcare P1900 that as of today the foot of the bed will not lower using the hi lo button at the top side rail.   The head will lower, but the foot is now at maximum height.   Hitting the lower button keys the head lower but the foot stays in place,  just like putting the bed in Trendelenberg position.   I called support and they had me swap the solenoid for the up and down high low,  but this had no effect.   He said it it's probably the valve that is stuck and can be removed from the manifold to be cleaned or replaced.   How do i remove this valve from the manifold?  Is there a way to manually lower the bed?  I took bolts off the bracket on the foot of the large hydraulic cylinder for the bottom section,  but didn't see how to release it.  Any suggestions or copies of the service manual for this bed would be appreciated.  We moved my son to a small makeshift bed until we can get this lowered to normal level height out fixed.   Thank you!

Ok I can handle sounds but can someone share if this is normal for the mattress air to make so much noise? Gets quiet and then revs high…

My father has a hillrom P1900 bed and it started making a strange sound like a power steering pump low on fluid. And the bed slowly quit rising and lowering . I then found that the bed is leaking fluid at the head of the bed. Is there a common issue for the leak? I didn't know if the plastic tank is prone to cracking or could there be a particular hose or manifold that is liable to crack or solenoid that leaks etc. It looks like a hose or the tank might be the culprit but the bed is almost all the way in the lowered position so seeing in the area of the tank is rather difficult. Is there a emergency release that would allow me to manually raise it high enough to see what might be behind the leak. I don't have any service or operators manual since the home healthcare place claims they don't have anything on this bed. Any ideas or recommendations on places to locate manuals or trouble shooting guides would be greatly appreciated. I'm full capable of working on then seeing as I was a engineer at Phillips petroleum for years and now recycle Alfa Romeo, Maserati Ferrari and Lamborghinis on the side when not build engines for Alfa spiders for track use .

Hello, I have a problem with a bed, the knee down, head down, foot down functions do not lower their respective functions. The bed only performs the elevation functions but does not do any lowering

I am disabled and bought a Hill Rom P1900 Total care bed from a govt auction. The bed work fine for a few months but has now stopped raising almost entirely. At first I thought it was a hydraulic fluid issue. I had my brother check the fluid level and he said that with the deck and head etc down the fluid level was just barely below the "A" level and that when we was able to coax the bed up it was right around the "B" level. What is happening is that when the deck up button is pressed there is an initial jump of a fraction of an inch and then it slows to a stop as the motor continues to whir. If we continue to press and release the up button we can get the bed to slowly raise after many short jumps with the foot being higher than the head. With the bed in the down position I can lay in the bed and raise the head only in a reasonable fashion and the knee raise function works but seems very slow and sometimes take a couple of tries to initialize. I tried ordering some hydraulic fluid to see if adding the little bit that it is low would help, but everywhere I have found it has been either out of stock or has a $25 shipping for a quart of oil. I have 2 questions 1. Is there an off the shelf hydraulic fluid I could use that want be so expensive? 2. Is there any other ways I can troubleshoot and possibly fix my bed? I would appreciate any help offered. I saved a long time to get this bed. I injured my spine and cannot lay flat in a bed so I spent 11 years sleeping in recliners. I don't want to go back to my feet hanging off of a foot rest again.
