Check out this ISMP Canada Safety Bulletin "ALERT: Alarm Not Activated after Infusion Pump Tubing Incorrectly Loaded". After reading it, and testing multiple 6201 pumps, at low flow rates, I was able to consistently re-create up to 900% error, over and under, on multiple IV pumps. I can't believe the pump wasn't actually recalled! http://www.ismp-canada.org/download/safetyBulletins/ISMPCSB2003-10PumpTubing.pdf
During the availability of SiPAP in my place and introduce to them on how to start the SiPAP most specially by calibrating it first before each patient use. they find taking time for them since they are always comparing it to nCPAP and Advance cPAP Viasys. In our experience , in using the nCPAP or Advance CPAP they are not doing a calibration am i right? while the SiPAP needs Calibartion since the modes are almost thesame functions.
