Analox Instruments Ltd is a privately owned independent British company established in the United Kingdom in 1973 specialising in the development, manufacture and supply of analytical equipment for the medical and scientific laboratory markets. Using a novel enzymatic technique, the first semi-automatic instrument for glucose analysis has evolved into 20 model options for a variety of analytes in biological fluids, including plasma, serum and whole blood. The electrochemical technology employed is exceptionally fast with results becoming available less than 20 seconds after sample injection, and is remarkably free from the interference problems associated with traditional optical techniques. The company also manufactures all associated biochemical reagents and consumable systems. Its products are used in over 65 countries world-wide including all major markets - North America, all EC and Scandinavian countries, Japan, Malaysia, Australasia and most east European countries. Two thirds of the Company's output is exported, mostly through exclusive distributors. In January 1997 Analox Instruments USA became operational in Massachusetts to improve sales and service to US customers. In autumn 1999 Analox Instruments Ltd achieved ISO 9000 Accreditation for its manufacture, sales and distribution activities.
