Ease of Use

In the study conducted by Sawaki et al.,[33] the performance of Baxter PCA Infusor was compared with that of four electronic PCA devices using either morphine (2 or 4 mg/mL) or me-peridine (20 or 40 mg/mL). Mechanical problems were less frequent with the Baxter PCA Infusor, and patients and nurses felt more comfortable using the disposable device than the electronic pumps. Patients also found the disposable pump easier to use, especially at night. In general, 80% of nurses preferred the Baxter PCA Infusor over the four widely used electronic PCA devices for the management of acute postoperative pain.
