I know there is a filter in the smoke evacuator. Is there also a hepa filter that the exhaust runs through? How often does that need to be changed?

The black filter that is on the side is the exhaust filter for the suction. The smoke filter doubles as the connection point for the hose. The black filter is recommended to be changed every 6 months. However, if you are a surgery center or. Light duty hospital that doesn't run it a lot, you can change it at the 1 year or 500 hour run mark. If you call Stryker, they will tell you 6 months though.
