we have the valleylab force 1 digital electrosurgical unit and our question is, does the patient suppose to be grounded when in use cause our machine will not alarm if the patient is not grounded and you still can use the cautery. Is sumthing wrong with our unit or can it still be used without the patient being grounded and patient being safe

DO NOT use this without the ground circuit being complete. Use can cause burns to the patient and any staff who may be in contact with the surgical table or other devices.

You might want to contact a biomedical equipment servicing company. They can check out and/or repair your unit. This unit is no longer supported by the manufacture.
