Tried using the procedure for the 300XL but did not work , does anyone have the procedure for the 500XL

I know this question is 3 years old but here is an answer for anyone who may need it presently.
If it is a Gen I model without the timer board on the module , when you power the light source on hold the brightness up and down buttons for 3-5 seconds and the timer should reset.
If it is a Gen II model of the 500XL there is a built in timer on the lamp module so you have to switch the whole lamp module provided by smith and nephew since they won't sell just the timer board.
