Hello,

I would re-load software if you have the OEM disks. If not, I would try swapping out the hard drive with one pre-loaded.

Best regards,

Chris

Hello,

If you do not have the OEM part numbers, I would call the OEM to get the correct part number for the disks and a pricing quote.

Otherwise, if you can give me the part number of your hard drive and the current software version, I will see what I can do to find you a replacement drive with the software pre-loaded.

Best regards,

Chris

I am not familiar with the sonoace 8000 but if you can boot the system from a CD or USB drive then I would try down loading PClinuxOS Zen and installing it as a live version on Cd or USB. It is a complete Linux system you can boot to and run from the CD. If you can to boot to the CD and run "FSCK" on the GE drive. Other wise get another PC and set it up for Linux and add the GE drive to it and access it that way. I've used this very successfully on our Definium 8000s. If you get it fixed then get linux "partimage" you can run from a CD and create a back up of the drive for the next time. An investment in learning a little Linux and getting some tools will help you in the future with GE. I don't think Linux is anymore stable than Windows. (A point I refuse to argue here.)

Please be very careful with such a procedure - A lot of OEM's utilize custom Kernals which if you are using a different version could modify measurment files or transducer power files.

I HIGHLY recommend re-loading OEM software rather than trying to "repair" the corrupted software.

Patient safety is nothing to mess around with over a saving few dollars.

Best regards,

Chris
