Transducer has not been licensed.....

i just bought an Acuson Aspen ultrasound (1996-1999) that came with a a probe(4V2c) which works perfectly but is not the one i need for my business so i ordered a different probe (L10) which has more Mhz and i know it will be doing the job i need it for.

Every time i plug the new probe an error message comes up saying....Software sono-pac for this tranducer has not been licensed. After doing some research on web i found out that issues with tranducer licensing has to do with a dead battery inside the CNC board.

To make the long story short i would like someone to come and let me know if i can use this machine with the new probe(if not i will have to sell it).

If your 4v2c works fine then the L10 will not work with your system. When the system was purchased new the customer had the choice of buying certain options to run certain probes. Unfortunately, your system was not licensed to run the L10. It sounds like you are looking for a linear probe. If you look up your options you can see what linear probes you may be able to run. If you need any further help please email me at Lawrence@MySummitImaging.com and we can walk you through the process to look up your options.

I also have got an aspen 1999. When I push the xducer, it doesn't toggle between the probes. Only it shows the first probe on first position . If I change the probes mechanically, it shows it. It has three working sockets. One has upward wire.So it has to have a problem with the second socket. Other problem is, pictures are too grainy with poor focus. This and worse problem is the smell of Ozone and plastic. This smell is terrible and causes cough in me. Room is big but it now stinks! Even when machine is off, it emanates this wired smell.

Please help!
