Greetings,

These can be tricky little buggers due to the fact that the head and body move freely on the base. This can cause many issues when moving these around from place to place. With the complexity of internal pcbs and connections this can cause a multitude of issues that a simple disassembly and cleaning/reassembly will repair.

That said, if the Keratometer is not reading that means that the unit is not measuring the rected light from the surface of the eye. So first things first, we need to make sure all of the required lights (LEDs I believe in this case) are illuminated and alligned properly. If they are, then youhave to check the receptors to ensure they are registering differences in illumination.

If the lights are on and the collectors are registering changes in illumination then the problem is most likely a board level on with processing the information it is collecting or software issue.

I would recommend, first, to disassemble and clean the entire head assembly and lenses. The once you have done this, ensure that the lights are not obstructed which shine on the surgface of the eye. If it goes much more in depth past that, you really need someone who has all of the test and calibration equipment to take it from there to track down whether it is a board, processor, or software issue.
