Has any shop been able to procure a battery for this model and install it in-house? The manual says all maintenance must be performed by the vendor.

You can purchase the battery kit from Verathon or whoever is your local distributor. Part number was/is 0800-0404.

GBlair: Thank you for the part info. I'm glad Verathon makes the battery a insitutional BMET replaceable item. Sending equipment in for such routine maintenance items is just silly (and costly).
