Fans are loud

The fans are really loud. One of the tech recently cleaned the air filters and i think they left the power on when pulling out the filters. I remember reading somewhere in the manual that if this happens and if the 3rd party disabling imaging is not turned on, then a system error will occur and all fans will spin at full speed and become very loud. Siemens will half to send someone out to disengage this action. does anyone know a work around for this? thank you for your help.

TC,

It sounds as though someone removed one of the side coveres from the Sequoia. A hall effect switch on a PCB on either side of the scanner identifies when this occurs. THe end result is that the fans run at high-speed until someone goes into the service mode and resets the flag. At this point in time, you may have to place a service call with Siemens. Depending upon your relationship with the rep, he MAY talk you through deactivating the flag. When placing the service call to the UpTime center, you MAY be able to have them talk you through it. What needs to occur is that in the configuration, the 3rd-party service option needs to be enabled. It is a no-cost option. Usually the local service rep or his manager provides the code. Start by calling the Uptime center and describe what happened. Tell them that you wish to enable the 3rd party service feature. I'm hoping tht they will do this over the phone for you. You will bee the serial number of the system and usually their functional locator number. Good Luck !

Ted
