hard disk

For what equipment?

I have Medison SA 8000, there is HD damage. The technician change/copy the harddisk to HD Hitachi brand (former harddisk is seagate 80 GB) . It is hard to find Seagate IDE now. After install, the usg do not run. What could be the problem? is it due to the HD brand or something elae?   Can we use HD seagate SATA and then use converter? Thank you very much.

If the content is correct you may use any brand of HD as long as the active partition containing the system is smaller that 8Gb due to limitation of WinNT, but the licences will no longer be valid due to channge os HD S/N
