connection problem to laptop to get backup

I connected my laptop to the unit by serial cable and running Utility Suite, but it didn't download data from the system, I did several times without any trouble for OEC-9800. I tried to access data by Ethernet connection, but I figured out other side of Ethernet port is empty and doesn't have any connection to system. I would appreciate it for any help.

Ray, You will need to connect over ethernet on the 9900. Does your unit have the WISP (wireless) module on the side of it? If so you can try connecting through it or remove the side cover and you will see where the ethernet cable runs up to the WISP. Disconnect from the WISP and connect to the service laptop there. The IP of the service laptop and the carm should be consecutive so you may need to change one.
