When a battery is attached or the power cord is plugged-in, constant beeping starts and the screen remains dark whether turned-on or left off. Constant beeping. And, unable to enter Configuration Mode. What is the cause and are there any remedies?

The internal coin cell has most likely died. you have to replace the coin cell and reset your time and date, followed by a PM.

I have changed the internal battery and the equipment continues emitting sounds without screen
