There is a UPS in the trolley that if it runs down it sometimes doesn’t power back up automatically when plugged in. Check to see if the UPS is on when plugged in if not turn it on and see if that helps. If that doesn’t help. What happens when trying to turn on any sounds, anything displayed on screen, hangs at Bios.

You did not say if there are any signs of life or LED's on so this is some basic info.

There are two main fuses in the M50 (Cart base), 15 or 20amp depending upon your supply voltage (15A = 240v or 20A = 120v), check if they are OK.Doyou see any LED's on the M50?

The UPS has two connectors on rear, male & female. You can connected them together to bypass the UPS for testing only.

If Varic Powers-on try following: Reconnect power cables & connect to wall power for about 10 mins (to start charging UPS batteries). Then on UPS is power button, press & hold power button for 5 seconds, wait few seconds then press power button again, the UPS should come-on!

What might be happening, if the system is used ocassionally or the UPS batteries are getting old power loss can occure and the UPS configuration becomes corrupted. You should leave monitor Cart connected to power (system off), for at least 2 hours each week to charge UPS.

If bypassing the UPS does not work, try this: Underneath the Cart keyboard shelf is a master reset button (its just a hole), press in with pencil (don't over push) you might hear a click. On rear of PC is PS2 plug, this plug is not for mouse, it supplies 5v from PC to the M50 (power assembly). If this PS2 plug is not connected properly it can cause issues.

If you have a very old Varic there were two relays mounted next to the M50 (Cart), beneath the UPS, these relays and connector can come loose.

Tom,

The problem was a defective UPS and D50 PCB in the monitor trolley.

Thank you,

Clay Blake

Hi

Unless there was some form of power surge, its unusual for both UPS & D50 to fail.

I'm assuming you only have the Cart without main system connected.

Does the PC power-on?

Do both monitors power-on or only one monitor?

If the PC does not come on, have you got the PS2 cable connected to correct socket. This is not a mouse connection it supplies 5v back to D50 as part of the power-on process

Dear Tomelgy,

Thanks for reply,

Actually, I have try to turn on the monitor trolly without connecting the C arm trolley part. The main problem is: when push On switch in the monitor trolley, there is no any 220v going from D50 to monitors, PC, printer.

I have make the two wire of UPS is bypass but no any change!!

In addition, Regard PS2 , it’s connected to PC in the first line ( green port) and the end of cable connect to D50 port X13.

Sir, when turn on no any voltage carry out from D50 and not listen any click sound when turn on.

Waiting your kind reply

Just a quick question, is this a gen2 or gen1. If gen1 how old, 10 years or longer.

I ask because the very early gen1 had 2 additional relays mounted in the D50 area on a din rail (k22/k21 as I recall) with screw connector. The screws come loose!
