Enter congifuration mode by holding the black panel lock button on back + Stop while powering on pump, then turn insert clamp to off.
Without the slide clamp, the safety stop will always stay engaged. There are two ways around this. Baxter makes a slide clamp blank that stays in the pocket, I've also had luck pushing a small screwdriver deep into the slide clamp pocket until it clicks. Either of these methods will make the safety clamp behave as if theres a slide clamp in place.
