We will shortly be replacing the CPU backup battery in one unit, and the main batteries in another. The U-code warnings state that they are timed for 2 years after installation, but I don't see any method given in the service manual to reset those times. Is there something I'm overlooking, or does the machine magically know when those different batteries are replaced?

Huh... You didn't say which version of the install manual this page refers to, and so this wasn't real clear (i.e. I couldn't find this page in the version I had). But I found some info after digging around that may be the answer (I hope). Looks like you have to go into Adjustment Mode, display the parameter and use the Registration key to reset.
