I have a Logic e 5417728-100 and every time I click the "Patient" button an error message pops up that says "One or more options are about to expire". Does anyone know what time means and more importantly, how to fix it?

From reading your post, my best guess is the DICOM option key has expired or is missing. If you press utilities on the keyboard and then go the admin page, you can find a list of options. A picture of that page would help to see if something is missing. If only the basic option is turned on, then you will only be able to scan.
