Lithotomy positioning with the 1700 is accomplished through the following steps:

  • Level the table top out and set the table brakes
  • Orient the table top so that the back section is rotated above the base of the table and secure with locking handle
  • Remove head section of the table and attach to the end of the leg section
  • Transfer patient onto the table with their hips near the perineal portion of the seat section and their back on the back section
  • Attach stirrups at the distal end of the seat section
  • Place patient’s feet into stirrup boots and secure with straps
  • Raise the table up high enough for the leg section to be lowered 90 degrees
  • Remove head section from end of leg section
  • Lower the leg section all the way down

For closing out the case, a reverse of the instructions above will return the table to a safe and level position to transfer the patient off of the surgical table.

Sarah,

  1. Lower the leg section to 90 degrees.
  2. Leave the back and head section level.  For a shorter patient, it would be standard to remove the head section.
  3. Place the stirrups at the leg section side of the seat section side rails.
  4. Patients hips should be in alignment with the stirrups knuckles at the side rail.
