SYSTEM ERROR

SCD EXPRESS SYSTEM ERROR ON INITIAL POWER UP. ERROR OCCURS REGARDLESS OF BATTERY INSTALLATION. BATTERY SHOWS NO CHARGE BATTERY WILL NOT TAKE A CHARGE FROM EXTERNAL CHARGER NO SPECIFIC FAULT CODE IS CALLED OUT BY UNIT. 24Vdc OUT OF J4 (J1 PER MANUAL) ON PS-BOARD TO CPU-BOARD 0V OUT OF J6 ON PS-BOARD TO 6Vdc COOLING FAN INDUCTOR L3 FEEDS BOTH J4 (J1 PER MANUAL) AND J6 295 OHMS ACROSS COMPRESSOR 4.6 MOHMS ACROSS COOLING FAN 50 OHMS ACROSS (6) RELIEF SOLENOIDS I SEE NO OBVIOUS SIGNS OF DAMAGE ON THE SECONDARY BOARD. I'VE REACHED OUT TO J2C WITH MINIMAL RESULTS. HELP AND FEEDBACK WOULD BE APPRECIATED.. SEMRAD

Thank you for the reply.  Yes, I've been through the manual.  In each possible cause of error the manual states seek professional service support.

Is there a number flashing along with the alarm or is the battery lights flashing red? It sounds like you have a bad battery, have you tried the battery refresh cycle? it's service mode test 1, i believe the OEM calls it the "burn in". Let it run overnight without hoses connected to it. If it starts to alarm during the burn in time you have a bad battery (or battery contacts on the board, I've seen the battery contact pad become desoldered ). There always could be a board issue but generally you'll see burn't components on the baord if that's the case. When these batteries stop accepting a charge the unit won't run, they keep erroring and just the battery lights flash red. Also, not sure how you're testing it but these housings need to be screwed together. Otherwise the battery won't make a proper contact with the front board.
