FFB frame sync error
RE: Mobile C-Arm Report Post
Frame Sync error displayed.
Recommended Checks
Two signals from the CCD camera enter the Video Controller PCB in the work station through the Interconnect cable; The Video signal (differential analog video) and the Pilot Tone signal (synchronization). Both signals feed U18 (Sync Generator) on the board. The output of U18 is processed on the Video Controller PCB before it is passed to the Image Processor PCB and the System interface PCB. When the Video Controller PCB does not receive the Video signal no video will be generated. When the Pilot Tone signal is missing or when the Video Controller PCB is not processing the sync signal or the expected signal is not reaching the Image Processor PCB or System Interface PCB you will see the Sync Frame error displayed.
Solution
To isolate the problem turn system off Disconnect Interconnect Cable and boot up Work Station. If the message does not come up then the problem is on the C-arrn. Check the Pilot Tone pathway from the CCD Camera through the Interconnect Cable to the Video Controller Board. Test signal at TP2 and TP6 on the Video Controller PCB (Refer to Pilot Tone Functional Diagram). If the error message persists then the problem is on the Work Station (Video Controller, Image Processor, System Interface or Display Adapter/Controller). To eliminate the System Interface PCB, check LED 4 on DS1, if it's lit the signal is detected on the board. Check P4 and P5 on the Image Processor PCB also check the integrity of the cables to rule out this board and/or cables. There are test points on the Video Controller PCB and on the Image Display PCB to help you trace the signal and determine where it is lost. Replace parts accordingly to your test results.
