Time and Date issue

The coin cell is at 3.25 VDC. The hardware test states that system memory and static memory both errored out. Is this a coin cell issue or the main board? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Ahamayym,

Among other things, the coin cell battery maintains the time/date and changes to default settings. If the cell voltage maintains @ 3.25, is it possible you have a cold solder joint? To troubleshoot, I would suggest checking the voltage along the traces leading to the battery posts. Often I have encountered boards with -/+ solder points that have been torn or damaged when individuals attempted to replace the coin cell battery.

I verified the battery voltage at the battery and through the board at the solder points.  Unfortunately, it isn't a cold solder joint.  Thank you for the recommendation.  I am thinking that the main board has finally gone bad.  It has a mfr date of 2008.
