Check Battery

Hi everyone, I have a bunch of sigma spectrum pumps that generate "check battery alarms" after I replace the battery as part of the annual PM. Has anyone come across this problem and/or know how to resolve it?

If you order the battery replacement kit, it comes with a little magnet that lets the device know the battery is there.

Otherwise, you can replace the battery inside the battery pack that might need to be updated (PN 42063).

The third place you can check are the battery terminals on the Sigma side. Because they move, it can get stuck with a combination of liquid or debris that gets behind the battery. Using alcohol + a cotton topped wooden applicator, you can gently go over the terminals to loosen the pins. Dry afterwards. Check battery connection and see if it clears the battery alert error.

Hope this helps!

I know a firm that can fix this for you if the battery is defective or the back casing is not detecting the battery because the battery's magnet is missing.

Check the battery contacts and see if any are stuck in the down position. If so apply a tiny ammount of lubricant to the contact. Push down gently with a tooth pick ir something similar. Make sure the pump is unplugged. Once the contact is free and working clean with a prep pad and retry pump. This will not fix a bad battery, but if the battery cannot communicate with the pump or charge this may be your issue
