Connecting to Remote Repository

Hello everyone, I am implementing a solution involving ELI 250 machines for a non-profit. This will be an implementation extending outside of a local network, as the devices will be at different physical locations, but need to be viewable from a single place. A few questions, but starting with the first. 1. I have connected the ELI-250 on the local network, and configured to point to a Host IP. I have a few pointing to a laptop on the network, and a few pointing to an EC2 instance hosted on AWS. I cannot get the ELI-250 machine to send any packets to either. I am suspecting there needs to be software "listening" on the server side. The only mention of this I've seen in the documentation is E-Scribe, but was considering leveraging a donated license of GE's MUSE software. Should the ELI-250 machines be able to send directly to the C:\UNIPRO directory, or will this require some middleware software? If we decide to go the MUSE route, I suspect we will need Datamed as a middleware... but I am unsure of any other components that might be necessary. Look forward to hearing back from you all. Best, Mike Patton

The ELI250 has to transmit to ELI Link. The 250 is end of service and had limited connectivity to it. It does not ping or respond to ping. If you send an email to mor_tech.support@hillrom.com along with a copy of the configuration page we will take a look at it. If the unit cannot transmit we will not be able to help you.

ELI Link has the ability to place a pdf on a network share at most facilities. If it can transmit then it can transmit across the internet if you set up ELI Link on a computer listening on the internet. ELI Link is free but because the 250 is EOL we cannot be of much service troubleshooting the installation.

Thank you

Thanks for the quick information Jim. Let me play around with a few things with ELI Link and see if I can get some transmission to take place. Is ELI Link installation pretty straight forward?

It comes with an Amdinistation Guide. That needs to be followed. It has an SQLEXPRESS database that gets installed first. ELI Link can have Sites which are different facilities or departments. Each Site can drop a PDF in a different shared drive.

You can go to hillrom.com and search for ELI Link manual and review the manual.
