Getting a "no simmer" error...pretty old laser, probably not much maintenenece.

I am not familiar with this model laser; however, I have seen a few no simmer messages. The lamp is definitely a possibility. I have seen several Cynosure lamps blow effectively killing any chance of simmering. Another possibilty is the simmer supply. The trigger transformer may be bad or the low voltage on the simmer board. Also, depending on the circuit design, a bad transistor can keep the voltage from reaching the lamp. And lastly, if the water in the system and DI filter has not been changed in years, it can cause issues with simmering.
There is quite a spread of ideas but nothing concrete. Hopefully, it will give you some direction. Let me know if any of them work out for you.
Good luck.
