Bought one used and it works great but no movement on the horizontal slide? I just unpacked it and the brake is not engaged but nothing. Is there perhaps a shipping screw that prevents movement in transit that I have to undo ?

You must have removed the brake handle out. If horizontal movement is still stuck then you might have to open the plate on the side and check for stuck plate. You need to remove Techview monitor and its mounting in order to get access to the side bracket screw.
