Unfortunately I tried that, Every metal piece accessible on this unit is un-useable.

The Hyfrecator 2000 uses an isolated power supply and the AC ground (wire) connects only and directly to the power supply board.   There is no other connection point on the case, thus a traditional ground electrical safety check will not work nor is it required.   Conmed doess call for a DC Isolation Test however, which will verify that the patient output jacks are isolated at DC from earth (ground) and from one another.   The test consist of verifying infinite resistance between P/P jacks (and other points) to AC inlet ground on the back of the unit.   The procedure is laid out in the service manaul.   Hope this helps.  - Cipher

unplug it, test the resistance of the cord and that's all you can do.

The return ground uses the power ground wire.  You measure from the probe tip to the earth ground.  This is stated in the service manual for doing electrical safety.  Also says should not read higher than 40uA.

Thanks!

It may be possible to access the case screws using a screwdriver.
