Won't reach set speed?

I haven't used this centrifuge for quite a while. It is an older (2006) version of the VWR 200. I have set the speed to 5000 rpm, it has the 6-place 50 ml angle head rotor installed. The speed tops out at 665 rpm. What can I do to remedy this situation? Initially the LED screen was flashing "94" . I unplugged it and plugged it back in again, and the screen now functions normally.

Unfortunantly, I believe that model is obsolete. I called VWR directly to see if I could get an updated service manual to cover your error code, and they suggested having you contact them. I'm afraid that may be your best coarse of action. Their phone number is (888) 897-5463. Thanks again for using MedWrench.

Did you eventually got a solution to your problem? I have a the same exact problem and i was wondering if there's a max speed setup that was activated by mistake?

I'd wager your motor is shot. any strange smells, burning rubber? I'm thinking bad motor, or bad speed sensor, or bad power supply. all of which are fairly easy to troubleshoot but if parts aren't available, it's  waste of time. just replace it. My company would be happy to sell you a replacement unit or you could reach out to any of the drucker distributors

Hi. No bad smell. I have a signal for the speed sensor and a signal (PWM) for the motor that won't go beyond 20% of the max. I've connected the motor directly to a power supply and it turns fast and smooth. It's look like these a speed limiter somewhere but i can't find anything on the manuals!

Any chance the RPM is set to 5000 but it's displaying RCF during the run cycle?

I've measured the PWM signal going to the motor and the displayed speed is proportional to what i'm seeing. I even took a tachometer to verify the speed....it won't go beyond 750RPM. I'm clueless.

You're not getting an error code, correct?  Looking though a manual (I think it's the correct one) and you may want to check:

Incorrect positioning of imbalance sensor.

Speed sensor is defective or cable is broken at speed sensor, possibly, loose magnet.

Not sure where either of these are located.

GL!
