Has anyone ever had an issue where the unit heats up during fill mode but not sterilization mode. Switch has drag when turning it on. Figuring maybe the selector switch is faulty.

I would definitely suspect the function switch. I would make sure no wires are grounding out/shorting but I would put money its the function switch.
