Blank display - not the backlights, display, or display driver

Could anyone shed some light as to why several MP50s have a completely black/blank display. We switched out the entire display with backlights and inverter, front bezel, and small display driver board with no change. These units have been operating for months in a low resource setting with no air conditioning and the daily temperature typically runs near 35C, 95F with usual relative humidity between 50% and 80%.

Well, the first thing to ask is, is the monitor otherwise "waking up" okay? Is it going thru the procedure of the various alarm lights and sounds? Does the touch display work at all, with audio feedback? And you say several of them are doing the same thing at the same time? Are they networked? Try disconnecting from the network and see if that makes a difference. If all the above is okay and still no display, you may have to go in with the Service Tool and see if there's anything wrong. I wish Philips would do something with the error codes like they used to with the Merlins, but they claim that they can't do anything with the service codes. :-(

More information.  Units are stand alone -no network.  Power on results in the normal sounds and sequence, just no display, no backlights.  We cannot tell if the touch screen responds or not.

Disconnecting and reconnecting an MMS results in the usual sounds.

We are leaning towards a power supply, but do not have the Philips service tool to replace the power supply.

You don't need the service tool to replace the power supply. And if the LEDS are functioning on the display edges, then the power supply itself is probably okay. No, it's sounding like either the backlight power supply board or the backlights themselves being the problem. But you do need to verify that the touch screen is working. Look at another working monitor and try tapping the screen in the similar spots, and you should be hearing the audible beeps.

And it's not too hard to disassemble the monitor, but you should try to find the service manual first. And they are software-specific (also older vs. newer). Kinda surprised that they don't have the manual here.
