FX on startup has error 197 in cut display and will not proceed. What is the issue?

Handswitch or Monopolar 1 Footswitch coag pedal may be stuck.
Power on the device with no accessories attached and see if the error recurs. If it doesn't, connect the handswitch and footswitch 1 at a time until the error reappears. That should tell you the cause.
