This feels like a Jeopardy question..
Medical imaging is split into 2 catagories: diagnostic imaging and clinical imaging.
The question is broad so the answer will be broad.
One side if imaging is to detect and diagnose problems (gammacamera, CT, Flouro, dental xray, Most ultrasound, bone densitometers etc) and the other is used to treat problems (gamaknife, linac, etc)
