Stryker 1015 Stretcher

Anyone have any tips/tricks for separating the hydraulic from the top bar? It always gets press-fitted over time and is a beast to separate .

Yes, it's got tapered snouts on the tops of the hydraulic cylinders. Here's what you need to do.. from page 14 of the service manual:

LITTER TOP REMOVAL

Required Tools: 1/2” Socket w/Extension, 3/8” Drive Ratchet, Standard Screwdriver

1. Using the foot pedal, pump up the litter top to full height.

2. Remove the stretcher mattress

3. Using a 1/2” socket, and a 3/8” drive ratchet, remove the truss head screws holding the jack support tubes to the jack shafts.

4. Thread a 7/16−20 fine thread bolt far enough into the top of the jack supports to separate the litter top from the jack shaft. (HINT, use high-pressure grease on the threads of the bolt, to help reduce the chance of galling the thread out. Also, turn a fraction of a turn, then tap the screw with a hammer to help jar the taper apart.)

5. With the assistance of another person, lift the litter straight up to remove it from the jack shafts and set it aside.

And when reassembling, put a light layer of grease such as LubriPlate on the snouts of the cylinders, so that next time, it'll separate a bit easier.

rethread the bolt 2 or 3 turns, support the top half of the stretcher on something solid, or lay the whole thing on it's side. Hit the bolt head with a small sledge/heavy hammer. Feel free to wd40 it before hand
