Errors E6 and E8 in 3M steri-vac-5xl

I hope all of you are doing well. I have 3M steri-vac 5XL machine. It is showing E8 and E6 errors. Please guide me what should I do? Thanks

I can't locate the service manual and seems this device is no longer supported by 3M.  The operators manual shows this for the errors:

E6 Pressure sensor failure Bad sensor or connection

E8 Sensor conversion error Bad sensor or connection

E6 Pressure Sensor Failure Indicates a vacuum sensor failure. This is only a range check
and is designed to detect a disconnected sensor.
E7 Pressure With Door Open
Failure
Indicates a range failure while the door is open (i.e., out-ofrange
ambient pressure).
E8 Sensor Conversion Error The temperature circuit is out of calibration.

Good day.

E6 – Pressure Sensor Failure Error

o              4XL 5XL     5XLe  8XL

Facts:         Looks at:  Pressure Sensor.  If sensor reads 1100 mbar, error is asserted.

Cause:        Vacuum/Pressure sensor failure.  Sensor disconnected.

Solution:     1. Ensure pressure is properly connected to the controller board.

                  2. Check for voltage across sensor, should be 2.00 to 5.00 volts DC.  Check for continuity, should be 1400 – 2300 ohms.  If either

specification is not met, replace sensor.

                  3.  Replace the sensor.

Cause:        24 volt power output out of specification.

Solution:     Adjust the 24 volt power supply to proper voltage, 24.00 +/- 0.10 V:  4XL/5XL at J10-1.  5XLe/8XL at J7-5.

Cause:        Connections to the 24 volt power supply or controller board are loose.

Solution:     Verify all connections between controller board and 24 volt power supply are secure.

Cause:        Controller failure.

Solution:     Replace the controller.

Cause:        Circuit Breaker failed.  (Circuit breaker is part of power On/Off switch.)

Solution:     Replace the circuit breaker.

Cause:        Sterilizer controller failure due to power line EMI/RFI interference.

Solution:     Install an EMI/RFI filter on the main power.

Notes:        1) If the EMI/RFI interference is of a short duration, the error can be cleared by turning the main power OFF for several seconds and then

                  back ON again.

                  2) This error does not allow the user access to the sterilizer.  The Vacuum/Pressure sensor is outside the expected Pressure range.

                  3) To Clear:  Cycle power.

E8 – Sensor Conversion Failure Error

o              4XL 5XL    5XLe

Facts:         4XL/5XL: Looks at microprocessor on controller board.

5XLe:  Looks at voltage across resistor R2.

5XLe:  Temperature circuit is out of calibration.  If REF as seen in Help Screen is 2.54 ->error.

Cause:        5 volt power output out of specification or failed.

Solution:     1. Adjust the 5 volt power supply.  4XL/5XL: 5.00 +/- 0.1 VDC at J10-4.

5XLe:  Make sure REF on Help Screen is 2.50 +/- 0.04.

                  2. Make sure current POT is adjusted fully clockwise.

                  3. If voltage or REF fluctuates, replace power supply.

Cause:        24 volt power output out of specification or failed.

Solution:     1. Adjust the 24 volt power supply to proper voltage, 24.00 +/- 0.10 V:  4XL/5XL at J10-1.  5XLe at J7-5.  Replace if cannot maintain

                  specification.

                  2. Make sure current POT is adjusted fully clockwise.

                  3. If both power supplies are OK, then probably the controller board has failed and must be replaced.

Cause:        Any Sensor Failure.

Solution:     Replace the defective sensor.

Cause:        Connections to the 5 volt power supply or controller board are loose.

Solution:     Verify all connections to 5 volt power supply and controller board are secure.

Cause:        Controller failure.

Solution:     Replace the controller.

                  3) To Clear:  Cycle power.
