Using a hand activated monopolar pencil with a foot pedal on an FT10

Hi, My apologies if the answer to this question is very obvious, but can some one use a hand activated monopolar pencil with a foot pedal connected at the back of the unit? I can't go to the hospital and try at the moment doe to COVID restrictions. I believe that you just connect the pencil as normal (PORT1 or PORT2), and then connect the pedal on the corresponding PORT1 or PORT2 at the back of the unit, so either the hand button or the foot pedal will activate the pencil?
