Forging X-ray films..

I have an actinic marker, that is forging the X-ray films when we try to put patient details,, and on another note i am un able to regulate the light intensit but my variable resistor is working okay.. please help... And if anyone can help me with the electrical circuit diagram of it i will really appreciate.
