The sterilizer was for about 2 hours in aeration mode when its compressor stopped working. The sterilizer hung-up and girls turned it off. When I got to it, the display showed E71 and C3 errors. It was no response to either button. Does anybody know how to switch the sterilizer back into standby mode?

Hi there. Your equipment is quite old and hopes it is in good condition.
For 4XL sterilizer E71 – Final Vacuum Pumpdown Error is because of the compressor. Firstly you have to restore compressed air and switch the sterilizer on.
To Clear error message: After vacuum, purge, and mandatory aeration raise the door handle. After the door opens, press STOP.
User can attempt to clear abort by pressing START when the machine is in abort condition. The machine will go to the final pump down and purge if the malfunction has been corrected. If the machine goes to E73 or E75, the Silent Abort Clearing Procedure has to be used.
If Clear Silent Abort Procedure does not work, i.e. the sterilizer still shows gas expose, use the Reset Site Setup Procedure. The sterilizer will go into the final vacuum, purge, and mandatory aeration. (Note: this will take approx. 45 min. However, if 3 hours locked aeration is set via DIP switch or programmed into the cycle, the machine will aerate for the full 3 hours before the door will unlock.).
C3 – Power Interruption Caution - is only because a girl switched it off.

E54 - Corte de energía prolongado El error de corte de energía prolongado indica un problema de presión en la cámara después de un corte de energía. La presión dentro de la cámara es demasiado cercana al medio ambiente. Si no esta haciendo nada hay que hacer un procedimiento supercisado escribeme para ponernos en contacto.
Pero si esta en purga debe esperar a que libere es seguro de la manija de la puerta, cuando esto pase abrir la puerta abrirla y presionar stop.
Para volver a la pantalla de inicio. Se debe revisar con la pueba de fugas la camara.
