Transfer timing errors are usually due to flag sensors or optical sensors that are contaminated or blocked. The machine knows the amount of time a sample should progress from stage to stage and when something is bound up or a sensor is contaminated, the machine does not get a signal in the proper amount of time.

Check the sensors and the movement mechanisms.
