I read in the manual where it is 100 Watts, but I did not see anything about amps. How many amps does it need/use? THank you.

Somewhere in the 8-9 amp range.
Watts law puts the current usage around 8.3A (1000W/120V)
Ohms law puts it around 8.57A assuming heating element is 14 ohms. (120V/14ohms).
