Changing the infared rod

I have a babytherm 8010 it has 300 watt heating elements , but the available is 200 watt , is there any problem if i used these 2 elements?

Power to the heating elements  can be controlled by the temperature of the patient so that using 200 watts heating elements should not present a problem.

The engineer said that it gives error 35 , but It was un acceptable where the checking for the infrarein lements in error 71 , also according to the service manual the feedback signal controlled by triac and optocoppler   may be the signal is weak as the resistance of the 200 w is higher? And this makes conflict in the device ?
