RM2255 - Microtome won't run on automode

Hello, I am having issues where auto mode is not working...I have checked the PCB and noticed that R63 is damaged/cracked in the middle. Will that be the source of the problem? I have checked the test points as well in TP2 and everything seems to be working. Any help will be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Hi Vhicorp,

I found this in the manual found in the documents section.

"For that purpose, the drive motor M1 contains two
relays (REL3, REL4) which are connected in series;
the clutch contains two relays (REL1, REL2) connected
in parallel and two control wires that are
independent of each other.
The independent emergency stop wire ensures that
both motor relays drop out immediately and that the
clutch is actuated by REL2. This, in turn, virtually
short-circuits the motor via R63 causing it to stop
extremely quickly."

You can find the entry on page 189. There is a whole section about this which may explain the damaged resistor.

Good Luck!

Thank you MapleTreeBiomed! I have tried replacing the R63 but no luck. Fortunately I got a hold of a brand new board and it worked.
