Stryker brake adjustment

the brakes lock on both ends, but when you step on the side pedals the brakes will not engage and i cannot find and worn or bent parts . what would cause this and what needs replaced or adjusted ?

are you sure the pedal rod is spinning? often the roll pin will brake when the user is too forceful in pressing the pedals? or perhaps part of the side control linkage is damaged. I find the best way to work on stretchers is to flip them over. That way you have the best view of everything.

everything is moving as it should but the brake will not lock when using the side pedal ,the brake mech moves and when it comes to the point where it should snap into the lock position it stops. compared all parts with another stretcher all parts are identical, no wear or bent/missing or broken parts. at this point i think i will just eliminate entire the side brake assembly.
